Bear Snacks

Some people asks whether I am A Bear, but as we all know I'm not that kind of Bear!

But when I got asked by the lovely people at Bear Nibbles whether we were interested in trying their new fruit based snacks, I couldn't resist.

I have two lovely girsl, Bel and Car. Bel will eat fruit of all shapes and sizes and is always keen to try new ones. Car will only eat apples (and that's with the peel off!) and blackberries. When weaning she used to scream if you put a banana any where near her so getting her to eat exotic fruit is always going to be a nightmare.

This is where the new Bear Yo Yo's are a great snack for her lunchbox or even for after school munchies.

Mango Bear Yo Yo's are a new flavour of the award winning snack that has been launched to celebrate their 3rd birthday. One Yo Yo (of 2 in a pack) can be counted towards your 5 fruit a day and are also fat free, full of fibre and if you can hide them from the kids only 27 calories.

We were sent a lovely lunchbox, a yo yo (of the non edible kind), some vouchers and a pack of the mango bear yo yo's so we sat down and had a taste panel.

First thing that hit me was the smell, a real fruity smell (no preservatives here) but I later found out that's because they use 100% naked fruit! Bel and Car both had a good sniff too and declared them yummy smelling.
We then opened the packed and found 2 Yo Yo rolls on a forest card.

The forest card's can be collected and each one has two facts on it which made Bel very happy (being a fan of facts!). Later while exploring the website we found that you could also submit your own animal fact - something that has got Bel thinking!

I then gave one yo yo roll to Bel and one to Car. Bel took a bite and declared that they were definately delicious and could she have some for her lunchbox. I took a bite of Bel's and agreed - something I could also use as a snack. Car though was not as easily pleased - she took a small bite, grimaced and swallowed, so not sure if the mango flavour was a hit, but luckily Yo Yo's come in other flavours so we will have a hunt for more bear nibbles. Neb also decided not to taste them (he's a bit odd like that) but was proclaimed the yo-yo champion as he's the only one who could do it.

So overall a 50% success in the BNM household but I think we will investigate the other flavours of Strawberry, Raspberry, Blueberry and Pineapple&Apple for the fussy ones!

Bear Yo Yo's and the other Bear Nibbles are sold  atAsda, Co-operative, Morrison’s, Sainsbury’s, Ocado Tesco, Waitrose, Holland& Barrett, Co-operative, Somerfield, CafĂ© Nero, Wilkinsons, Wholefoods, Planet Organic, GardenCentre group and lots of small chains & independents (as well as online) and retail at 49p (20g pack) / Multipack RRP 2.29 (5 x 20g bags).
